McGee completes spring training with impressive performance

Former Hopkinsville High School pitcher Easton McGee wrapped up his spring training with an impressive performance for the Milwaukee Brewers on Sunday.

McGee came out of the bullpen and struck out four batters in two innings of work. The 6-foot-6 right-hander didn’t allow a hit or a baserunner as the Brewers shut out the Rockies 6-0.

The Brewers announced last week that they were optioning the former Tigers star to the minor leagues to begin the 2025 season. However, they did not indicate where McGee could end up.

McGee’s family says they expect him to be sent to the Brewers’ Triple-A farm team, the Nashville Sounds, where he spent most of last season.

This spring, McGee appeared in six games, tossing 6 2/3 innings. He allowed three hits and two earned runs and struck out four batters. He had a 2.70 ERA.
