No. 8 Blazers hold off Franklin-Simpson, 5-1

Eighth-ranked University Heights Academy got an impressive game from Jaiden Miles on the mound and defeated visiting Franklin-Simpson 5-1 Monday afternoon at Blazer Field.

Miles gave up two hits and a run through four innings. He struck out four. Bryson Turner relieved and pitched two innings of scoreless baseball. Cadence Gibson earned the save.

Gibson and Josh Pace led the Blazers at the plate with two hits each.

UHA took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the second inning and added three more runs in the bottom of the fourth.

UHA is scheduled to play host to District 8 foe Fort Campbell on Thursday.
