FFA chapters across the Pennyrile region showed off their skills and knowledge at FFA Speaking Day on Friday.
Students from the region gathered at Murray State University to represent their home chapters with speeches spotlighting agriculture. To advance to the state contest in June, competitors needed to finish in the top two of their category.
Noah Mallory, the Kentucky FFA Pennyrile State Vice President, was in attendance during the competition and says the motive behind the event is to put the skills students have learned during the school year to work. He adds it’s a great way for students to broaden their horizons for the future ahead.
Christian County High School and Hopkinsville High School FFA chapter members took home numerous awards from the event and will represent Christian County at the state level.
