Semi-truck fire closed I-24 for several hours Monday

A vehicle fire on I-24 in Trigg County Monday evening shut down the interstate for several hours.

It happened in the westbound lanes of Interstate 24, according to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, at approximately 2 p.m. when a commercial vehicle caught fire near the 65-mile marker.

Emergency crews worked quickly and had the fire extinguished and the semi-truck moved out of the roadway within a couple of hours.
