Man awaiting murder trial arrested in Oak Grove

A man who was out on an ankle monitor while awaiting trial on murder charges in Christian County was arrested in Oak Grove Sunday evening.

According to the Oak Grove Police Department, officers responded to reports of a vehicle break-in and upon arrival, made contact with 21-year-old Omega Plaisme of Clarksville, who reportedly had slurred speech and was having trouble standing still.

Plaisme had allegedly caused damage to a vehicle’s stereo, possibly in an attempt to remove it. He was also wearing an electronic monitoring device that appeared to have been intentionally damaged.

Plaisme had been previously released from jail on an ankle monitor while awaiting trial in the 2022 fatal shooting of 18-year-old Gailon Toler, where Plaisme is charged with murder.

Plaisme is now facing additional charges of second-degree criminal mischief, violation of condition of release, public intoxication and tampering with a prisoner monitoring device.
