Spring will certainly make itself known this week, with bright sunny days to start things off and then the potential for severe storms in the weekend.
Expect some downright beautiful days in the first half of the week, with sunny skies and highs reaching the mid-70’s temperature wise. Rachel Trevino with the National Weather Service in Paducah says we’ll have above normal temperatures all the way into the weekend, even with some rain on Thursday.
Then, it’s looking likely that the region will experience stormy weather Friday night into Saturday morning, and Trevino says the ingredients are there for some of those storms to be strong or severe, with all hazards possible.
Storms will last through the overnight hours, with a chance for severe storms lingering in Saturday for the Pennyrile area—Trevino says this is still several days out, so they’re ironing out the details.
Trevino says don’t panic, just prepare now for the potential of severe weather, and stay tuned to the National Weather Service as more information comes out about the spring storm system.
