A woman was killed and a man is in custody following a fatal shooting on Pembroke-Oak Grove Road Sunday night.
It happened in the 6000 block at approximately 8 p.m. as deputies and EMS responded to a 911 call, and upon arrival located a deceased female victim with a gunshot wound.
Christian County Deputy Coroner Tim Fleming has identified the victim as 31-year-old Cicara Chantel James, and 34-year-old Anthony Moore was taken into custody. The Christian County Sheriff’s Department reports Moore was sitting on the porch when they arrived and allegedly admitted to the fatal shooting. Moore and James both lived in the home and had children together-children were in the home when the incident occurred.
He is charged with first-degree murder and first-degree wanton endangerment—he is lodged in the Christian County Jail.
The Christian County Sheriff’s Department is investigating.
