Madisonville cuts the ribbon for new sports complex, Kentucky Sports Factory

The ribbon has been cut and people are already at play in the Kentucky Sports Factory in Madisonville, the newest sports facility in the region that’s calling Hopkins County home.

A ribbon cutting and grand opening ceremony was held at the facility located at 839 Midtown Boulevard in Madisonville on Saturday, where officials unveiled the 90,000 square-foot sports complex. It contains six hardwood basketball courts that can be converted to 12 volley ball courts and 22 pickleball courts, a state-of-the-art indoor 60-yard turf soccer field, batting cages, a concessions area, a contemporary kitchen and catering options, party rooms, and professional office and conference spaces.

It was made possible through numerous partnerships, including between the City of Madisonville and Hopkins County Fiscal Court, with Judge-Executive Jack Whitfield saying that once upon a time, this wouldn’t have been possible—but everyone got together and made it happen.

Madisonville Mayor Kevin Cotton says there’s plenty of thank yous to go around, but especially to the people of Hopkins County, who have supported it every step of the way.

They also unveiled the complex’s new mascot—Factory Fox—who helped cut the ribbon on the new facility and then got to work welcoming in athletes of all ages.

The venue will be led by management firm the Sports Facilities Companies, with General Manager Brett Rody saying, “We aim to make Kentucky Sports Factory a hub for sports, a place where people of all ages can engage, compete and enjoy a wide array of sports and recreational activities.”
