A case dismissal motion is on the table for murder suspect Tavarius Mathews, but the commonwealth announced its opposition to the motion in Christian Circuit Court on Wednesday.
Mathews is charged with murder, two counts of first-degree wanton endangerment and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon after being allegedly connected to the shooting death of 27-year-old Jacorey Majors on November 10.
Mathews is represented by Defense Attorney Doug Moore who filed for the case against Mathews to be dismissed. Commonwealth’s Attorney Maureen Leamy says she is working on filing an opposing response.
Mathews will reappear in court for an evidentiary hearing on March 17 where the motions will be discussed.
