The Hopkinsville Tigers led from start to finish and rolled past Todd County Central Friday night in a boys’ high school basketball game.
Hoptown (14-14) opened the game on a 10-0 run and never looked back.
“Coming out of the gate is very important and I think the guys are finally realizing that,” Hoptown coach Anthony Babb said. “We wanted to finish with a bang going into the district. I’m Proud of these guys and everyone got to play it was a fun game for everybody.”
The Tigers led 22-7 after one quarter and pushed the lead to 34-14 at halftime.
It was 59-31 after three quarters in favor of the Tigers, who have won six of their last seven games entering the postseason.
James Bradley Jr. led the Tigers with 20 points and Jayon Bass added 10 points.
“His (Bass) drive and pull up game is improving,” Babb said. “The guy is getting better and better. He and TK (Treston Kay) bring so much energy and everyone else feeds off of it. Those are the types of guys you want leading your ballclub.”
Jonovan Leavell added 14 points for the Tigers, who will play the winner of the Heritage Christian Academy and Fort Campbell game in the District 8 semifinals at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday in Tiger Gym.
