Davis’ buzzer beater lifts HHS past Todd Central

Alicia Davis answered the call for the Hopkinsville Lady Tigers when they needed her most.

The senior guard hit a basket with 2.7 seconds left and sent Hoptown to a 57-56 girls’ high school basketball win over Todd County Central Friday night in Elkton.

The Lady Rebels (14-12) led most of the way including 29-25 at halftime advantage behind the play of Jamya Kay, who had 13 of her team-leading 19 points at the break.

Todd led 47-41 entering the fourth quarter, but Hopkinsville wouldn’t be denied as the Lady Tigers kept chipping away at the lead.
