Police arrest Hopkinsville pair for child abuse

Hopkinsville Police arrested 30-year-old Joshua Pedigo and 34-year-old Felicia Cumbee both of Hopkinsville for child abuse following a welfare check on Thursday.

According to a report, officers were dispatched to Pedigo’s and Cumbee’s residence to check the welfare of two children under the age of 12. The residence was reportedly filthy and had no heat or running water.

To heat the residence, the pair were reportedly using a kerosene heater and had no form of ventilation. Officers made contact with the children and they were allegedly malnourished, filthy and appeared to be sick.

A further search of the residence reportedly yielded a needle and suspected methamphetamine.

Pedigo and Cumbee were charged with second-degree criminal abuse of a child under the age of 12 and first-degree possession of a controlled substance. Pedigo was additionally charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.
