The Bracket for the 2025 UK HealthCare Boys Basketball Sweet 16 Tournament was released on Friday afternoon with the Region 2 champion scheduled to open the tournament in the final game of the first round against the Region 9 winner.
The two teams would play in the last game of the first round on Thursday, March 27, at Rupp Arena.
Currently, Henderson County is the top-ranked team in Region 2 with a RPI of .63494 and a 19-5 record. Cooper High School has the highest RPI in Region 9 with a .65939 and a record of 16-5.
The winner of the first round game will take on the winner of Region 3 and Region 11. The top team in the state resides in Region 11, that being Frederick Douglass, as well as top 15 teams including Great Crossing and Lexington Bryan Station. Daviess County is currently the top team in Region 3.
The Region 1 champion will open the tournament against the Region 16 winner on Wednesday, March 26. Marshall County is currently ranked No. 2 in the RPI and is the top team in Region 1. Ashland Blazer is the top ranked team in Region 16.
The Region 4 champion will play the Region 5 champion in the first round on March 26. Clinton County, Warren Central, Bowling Green, and Foundation Christian are the top teams in Region 4 while Green County is the top team in Region 5.
Other first round games on Wednesday include Region 8 vs. Region 12 and Region 6 against Region 7.
First round games on Thursday include Region 13 vs. Region 14 and Region 15 vs. Region 10.
