A Crofton man is facing numerous charges following a brief pursuit Friday in northern Christian County.
According to a news release from the Christian County Sheriff’s Department, deputies were patrolling in the area of Madisonville Road and Pleasant View Road at approximately 8:45 p.m. when they observed a vehicle fail to stay in its lane and strike a center median. Deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop.
That’s when the driver, identified as 44-year-old Jason Adams of Crofton, reportedly failed to stop, continuing on despite activated lights and sirens from law enforcement. Adams was allegedly observed throwing a plastic baggie that contained a white substance from the vehicle.
Adams eventually came to a stop in the 10100 block of Madisonville Road and was taken into custody without further incident. A search of the area led to the discovery of a clear bag and a large rock of a substance that was determined to be methamphetamine.
Adams was arrested and charged with second-degree fleeing or evading police, trafficking in methamphetamine, tampering with physical evidence, careless driving and improper registration plate.
