The Pennyrile Area Community Band was presented with the Friend of Music Award at Friday’s Kentucky Music Educators Association (KMEA) conference in Louisville.
The Community Band was founded in 2018 and includes musicians across the region with a wide range of musical experiences, and the association works to advance music education throughout the state.
The Friend of Music Award recognizes those who have contributed significantly toward making music education more accessible.
In a post on Facebook, the band shared that they were honored to receive the award and look forward to bringing music to the Hopkinsville area for many years to come.
