Princeton man charged with sex crimes against a minor in Madisonville

The Madisonville Police Department has made an arrest in connection with an investigation to possible child exploitation by an adult.

According to a news release, 23-year-old Mason Mayes of Princeton has been charged with procuring use of a minor by electronic means and first-offense distribution of obscene matter to minors in connection to an investigation that revealed sexual conversations between Mayes and a child under the age of 12.

In those conversations, Mayes allegedly asked the child for sexual material and sent the child sexually explicit photos. He reportedly to meet the child in the coming days.

Detectives located Mayes in Benton and took him into custody—he is lodged in the Hopkins County Jail.
