Seniors lead Colonels to wrestling victory

The Christian County High School wrestling team honored its four seniors on Wednesday night and then promptly dispatched visiting Clarksville (Tenn.) Northeast in a dual match at Lyle Dunbar Gym.

Tay Martinez, Isaiah Davidson, Bosa Ogbes, and Kevondre Young were recognized for their years of commitment to the CCHS wrestling program before the match. All four then won their respective matches to lead the Colonels to a 65-18 win.

Ogbes (157 pounds) and Tay Martinez (165) won their matches by forfeit. Davidson (190) defeated the Eagles’ Gavin Duffy by technical fall, 20-5. Young (126 pounds) also won his match by technical fall.

Other winners for the Colonels on Wednesday night included Dane Miller (144 pounds), Deacon Harrison (150), Jaiden Williams (175), Treshawn Crenshaw (285), Malachi James (106), Anthony Velasco (113), and Nathan Harrison (120).

The Colonels are scheduled to go to McCracken County Saturday.
