The Hopkinsville Tigers improved to 3-1 in District 8 with an easy 91-49 high school basketball win over host Heritage Christian Academy on Monday night.
Five Tigers were in double figures, led by James Bradley Jr., who had 14 points. Jonovan Leavell had 12. Jayon Bass added 11, Layton Giltner had 10 and Curtis Dillard also had 10 points for Hoptown, which improved to 9-13 overall.
Hopkinsville jumped out to a 28-13 first quarter lead and never looked back. It was 50-21 at halftime as the Tigers held the state’s leading scorer, Jason Leek to only seven points in the opening half.
Leek finished with a game-high 19 points, 14 rebounds, and six assists for the Warriors, who fell to 6-16 overall and 1-3 in the district.
Hoptown returns to action Friday night at home against Paducah Tilghman. HCA is scheduled to take on Crittenden County tonight in Marion.
