Christian County High School’s swim team completed its 2024-25 season Saturday at the Region 1 Swim Meet at the Rick Cohn Aquatic Center.
The top two individuals in each event automatically advanced to the Semi State Meet, scheduled for Feb. 8 at Bowling Green High School. Christian County did not have any swimmers to automatically qualify.
For the Lady Colonels, Sarah Kate Gilliam earned a pair of top-10 individual finishes. The eighth grader took 10th in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:45.56. She also was 10th in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 1:13.93.
Addison Peck finished 10th in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:27.43.
Gilliam and Peck teamed with Kaydence Harrison and Addison Renshaw to take fifth place in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:17.60.
Murray won the girls’ regional meet with 422 points, followed by Fort Campbell (261), Henderson County (235) and Madisonville-North Hopkins (228). Christian County finished eighth with 80 points.
For the boys, freshman Shemar Barker took eighth in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:42.54. Freshman Kolton Parker finished 10th in the 200-yard freestyle in 2:50.94.
Barker and Parker helped the 200-yard medley relay team, which also consisted of seventh grader Sam Peck and freshman Jackson Downey, take sixth in 2:47.41.
The same group finished seventh in the 200-yard freestyle relay in a time of 2:20.17.
Murray won the boys’ region title with 406 points, followed by Henderson County (301), Fort Campbell (245) and Madisonville (141).
