Following the success of the Merry Little Market, local vendors and small businesses are being invited back to the Clayton Building for the Sweetheart Market and the Stupid Cupid Market in February.
Patty Cooper, the owner of Starbird Gourmet Popcorn and So Much More, is one of the organizers. Cooper says the she had a great time at their holiday market and wanted to keep the fun alive in downtown Hopkinsville so she thought of the Sweetheart Market and is looking for vendors.
Cooper says some vendors have registered, but there is still plenty of room for those interested. The market is set to include dessert and woodworking vendors. The Sweetheart market is set for February 7 and 13 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. and on February 8 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Then on Valentine’s Day, the Stupid Cupid Market will take over the Clayton Building from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Cooper says the market is for last minute shoppers and those who are looking for something to do on Valentine’s Day.
Later in the evening, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. the market will be transformed into a meet-and-greet. Cooper says it will be an opportunity for folks to mingle, chat with vendors and to receive insight about the upcoming spring market at the Clayton Building. Plans are still in the works, but Cooper says the market is set for March, April and May.
Cooper says she looks forward to the markets and is happy to be able to host local vendors and provide a space for them to share their creations with the community.
It costs $25 per day to set up at the market and those interested in being a vendor can contact Cooper at 270-305-3008.
