The United Way of Pennyrile’s annual fundraising campaign is beginning to wind down—which means it’s time for a celebration in honor of their partner agencies and those who donated.
Appearing on WHOP Radio Friday morning, incoming United Way of the Pennyrile Executive Director Melanie Noffsinger says they’re really excited to announce the totals and give out awards on February 25 at the James E. Bruce Convention Center starting at 5:30 p.m.
She says all money raised during the campaign stays local, benefiting 18 partner agencies in their efforts to benefit those in need in the community—and they will never turn down a donation.
Some of those partner agencies include Aaron McNeil House, Inc., the Dyslexia Association of the Pennyrile, Sanctuary, Inc., the Boys and Girls Club of Hopkinsville, Christian County Rescue Squad, and many others.
Noffsinger says the United Way is proud to play a vital role for those agencies, and in turn, help the community as a whole.
This year’s campaign was chaired by Martha Steil and the theme is “Shine Like the Stars”—and the goal they hope to raise is $700,000.
