The Hopkins County Sheriff’s Department is investigating after a man was killed in a semi-truck crash on Beulah Road in Dawson Springs Tuesday morning.
According to the Hopkins County Sheriff’s Department, deputies responded to reports of that a tractor-trailer had overturned off the right shoulder of the roadway in the 18000 block of Beulah Road in Dawson Springs.
The semi was severely damaged from the impact, and first responders had to cut their way into the cab to extract the driver from inside. The driver—identified as 63-year-old David Pleasant—was declared deceased at the scene by the Hopkins County Coroner.
Investigation determined that Pleasant had been westbound on Beulah Road and was unable to navigate a sharp turn, dipping off the roadway. The semi and trailer overturned, and both—along with their contents—fell on top of the cab.
