The Christian County Lady Colonels went on the road and defeated Lyon County 81-75 on Saturday in a battle of two of the top girls’ basketball teams in Region 2.
The Lady Colonels got off to a hot start, taking a 35-20 lead after one quarter. They led 57-42 at halftime.
Lyon outscored the Lady Colonels 21-12 in the fourth quarter to make the game interesting, but Christian County held on for the win.
Ne’Vaeh Day had 23 points, Anaysia Bagwell had 22, and Lazarie Daniel finished with 21 points to lead the Lady Colonels, who improved to 12-8.
Daniel also had 11 rebounds in the game for Christian County, who returns to action Friday at home against Hopkinsville.

Lyon County slipped to 15-3 on the season and was led by Courtney Collins’ 22 points. Piper Cotham had 17 and Jenna Coursey added 16. Trinity Taylor hit four 3-pointers and had 14 points.
