Hopkins County Central used a big third quarter to pull away for an 83-58 high school basketball victory over Heritage Christian Academy Tuesday night at Warrior Gym.
The Storm outscored the Warriors 19-6 in the third period and led 70-40 entering the final quarter.
HCA got 43 points from senior guard Jason Leek, but it wasn’t enough as the Warriors fell to 3-10 on the season.
Hopkins Central led 26-18 after one quarter, but pushed the lead to 51-34 at halftime. HCA never threatened in the second half.
HCA will play host to Christian County Thursday night as part of a girls’/boys’ District 8 doubleheader. The girls’ game is scheduled to tip off at 6:30 p.m with the F&M Bank Pregame show set for 6:15 p.m. on 95.3 The Farm.
Hopkins Central improved to 7-6 on the season.
