Lady Tigers rally from early deficit, trip PTHS

Despite trailing 29-6 after one quarter, the Hopkinsville Lady Tigers rallied for a 71-65 girls’ high school basketball win over visiting Paducah Tilghman Monday night.

Hoptown (5-7) outscored the Lady Tornado 28-5 in the second quarter and the two teams were tied 34-34 at halftime.

Led by the play of Alicia Davis, LaShanti Wilson, and Dominique Allensworth, the Lady Tigers outscored Paducah 37-31 in the second half to take the win.

Five Hoptown players were in double figures led by Davis with 19 points. Wilson had 14, followed by Allensworth (13), LeeLee Love (11), and Laelah Watkins (10).

Hopkinsville returns to action Saturday at home against Hopkins County Central at 2:30 p.m.
