Former State Senator Whitney Westerfield has been selected to serve as the director of Legal and Government Affairs for LifeSkills, Inc.
LifeSkills is a community mental health organization that contracts with the Kentucky Department for Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities and Addiction Services and serves 18 counties. In his role, Westerfield will be a member of the LifeSkills’ leadership team providing guidance for legal and government matters, managing relationships with healthcare insurance agencies and ensuring operational compliance.
Westerfield has just concluded a 12-year career in the Kentucky Senate and has over 18 years of experience in the legal field. In a news release, Westerfield says he is deeply grateful for the opportunity to continue serving those in Kentucky by helping advance mental health and addiction recovery resources.
LifeSkills President and CEO Joe Dan Beavers says Westerfield’s understanding of Kentucky’s legislative and regulatory landscape, along with his proven ability to handle complex issues, will be invaluable as they continue to grow their services.
