After bidding farewell to outgoing Hopkinsville City Council members recently, the City of Hopkinsville welcomed in the new members with a swearing-in ceremony Monday afternoon.
Several wards will see new faces serving as their representatives on City Council in 2025, including Vance Smith in Ward 1, Brandi Stallons in Ward 2, Clayton Sumner in Ward 7, Seth Meek representing Ward 8, Brittanie Bogard in Ward 9, Michael Velez will represent Ward 10 and Ward 12 will be represented by Elizabeth Draude.
But there’s still some familiar faces on the council, as Donald Marsh will continuing representing Ward 3, Chuck Crabtree in Ward 4, Amy Craig in Ward 5, Travis Martin representing Ward 6 and Jason Bell continuing to serve in Ward 11.
Almost all of them were sworn-in by Christian Circuit Judge Andrew Self during a ceremony Monday in council chambers. The only ones not present were Martin, Meek and Bogard, who had already been sworn in at a prior time.
Mayor J.R. Knight welcomed all on board and back, saying he looks forward to what the new year has in store with so many new members, and is eager to see what they accomplish.
He thanked them all for the willingness to serve, saying they’ll hit the ground running.
Judge Self wished all the councilmembers luck, and last integrity in the years to come. There are more swearing-in ceremonies set in the coming days, including for Circuit Clerk Paige Parker and Commonwealth’s Attorney Maureen Leamy this Friday, along with deputies and other staff.
