The work week has started with some unseasonably warm temperatures and rain, but by the end of the week the rain is expected to pass and temperatures will plummet.
According to Warning Coordination Meteorologist Christine Wielgos with the National Weather Service in Paducah, widespread rain showers are moving east through the region and should conclude by Wednesday. Then temperatures will dip with highs in Christian County set to be in the 30s and 40s.
However, looking toward next week, Wielgos says temperatures are set to rise, but warm temperatures during the cold season can lead to inclement weather so the weather service is keeping an eye out for any possible system developments between Christmas and New Years.
With the upcoming warm temperatures, Wielgos says snow and ice probabilities are basically nonexistent meaning no white Christmas.
