Pedestrian hurt in Madisonville collision

The Madisonville Police Department is investigating after a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle Wednesday morning on North Main Street.

According to a news release, a vehicle operated by 52-year-old Jeffrey Johnson of Madisonville was making a left turn from North Main onto East Center Street at the same moment 20-year-old Janaya Porter was heading northbound on the crosswalk. 

Johnson told officers he had a green arrow, but did not see Porter until he hit her. 

Porter was taken to a local hospital for treatment, and the extent of her injuries was unknown.
