Madisonville-North Hopkins had too much Kanyon Johnson and defeated visiting Christian County for the ninth straight time 76-65 Tuesday night in a boys’ high school basketball game.
Johnson had 25 points including a thunderous dunk to start the second half. After Christian County rallied from 20 down to draw within seven in the second half, Johnson ignited a big run with three straight baskets to end the threat.
NaDarien Rowe kept the Colonels close with 14 of his 16 points in the second half. Kam Williams added 12 points and Darren Bigbee had 11 for Christian County, which slipped to 0-4. Zyon Wharton came off the bench to score 10.
The Colonels return to action Thursday night against Paducah Tilghman in the Toyota of Hopkinsville Holiday Classic at Hopkinsville High School.
