New pizza joint The Crusty Pig officially opens for business

The corner of 7th  and Virginia Streets in downtown Hopkinsville is home to a brand new pizza joint, The Crusty Pig, which officially opened its doors on Monday.

Margaret Prim, Mallory Lawrence, and Mindy Hargrove brought The Crusty Pig to life. The restaurant stands in the footprint of the Latham Hotel and Prim says they thought it would be a special place to establish a restaurant.

Prim says they settled on “The Crusty Pig” because Hargrove runs the Bar-B-Que Shack, and they wanted to marry barbecue and pizza. The menu even features a specialty barbecue pizza called the Crusty Pig.

The restaurant’s menu includes a wide array of pizzas which can be ordered whole or by the slice. Along with pizza, the restaurant has sandwiches, salads, a drink bar and much more.

Before opening day, the Crusty Pig hosted some soft opening events and Lawrence says the reception has been great.

Prim says the opening of the restaurant comes at a busy time, but they are ecstatic and proud of what they were able to do.

The Crusty Pig is located at 202 East 7th Street and is open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. from Sunday to Tuesday; from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday and from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
