The Christian County area is getting a break from below freezing temperatures to start off the week, but a cold snap is set to return along with chances for precipitation.
That’s according to Meteorologist Rachel Trevino with the National Weather Service in Paducah, who says rain chances have returned for the beginning of the week and colder temperatures will move in toward Tuesday and Wednesday. This drop in temperature brings with it a slight chance for snow flurries and accumulations.
Trevino says weather looks normal for the 8-to-14-day outlook, the mild cold snap will lift and we will see above normal temperatures for the rest of the week. The chance of precipitation will return to near normal amounts with around 0.85 inches of rainfall is expected.
In the long-range outlook, Trevino says to look out for any change in temperatures, but at this time she sees minimal concern in the coming weeks. Stay tuned to the WHOP Family of Stations to receive weather updates.
