Fort Campbell to host Holiday Wonderland on Friday, Saturday

To celebrate the holidays, Fort Campbell’s Morale, Welfare and Recreation is hosting multiple festivities for the Holiday Wonderland on Friday and Saturday.

From 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday the R.F. Sink Library parking lot will be taken over by the Holiday Market. Then at 4:30 p.m. Fort Campbell will host its inaugural Holiday Parade.

The parade will route will start on Michigan Avenue near the Wilson Theater parking lot, turn left onto Indiana Avenue, turn right onto 29th Street, turn left onto Kentucky Avenue and then left onto Screaming Eagle Boulevard.

The parade will conclude at T-39 Indiana Avenue for the Christmas tree lighting ceremony at 5 p.m. Then at 6 p.m. Santa Claus will be at the library for pictures.

The festivities resume on Saturday at 10 a.m. with the Jingle Bell Jog which starts at the library parking lot. Registration opens at 9 a.m. and attendees are invited to wear Santa hats, reindeer antlers and ugly holiday sweaters. The jog is family friendly, stroller friendly and pet friendly.

From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. the Cole Park Commons will be host to holiday arts and crafts. Folks can paint their own holiday-themed pottery, ceramic mugs, holiday ornaments and much more.

Then from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Trees for Troops will be hosted at the Division Parade Field. 2024 marks the 20th anniversary of Trees for Troops so there will be a ceremony hosted from 11:30 a.m. to noon. Free trees will then be available for junior enlisted soldiers from noon to 2 p.m. and then be open to all active duty soldiers from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
