Ryan Bryant hit one of two free throws with 3 seconds left and lifted visiting Madisonville-North Hopkins to a 61-60 high school basketball win over University Heights Academy Tuesday night in Blazer Gym.
The two teams played close throughout the game, although the Maroons (1-0) led most of the first half.
UHA trailed 56-47 entering the fourth quarter, but fueled by Tylin George, the Blazers battled back to tie the game at 60.
George scored 35 points to lead the Blazers. Bryson Northington added 13 points for UHA (0-1), which returns to play Friday night in a home game against South Warren.
Landen Smith had 16 points to pace Madisonville (1-0).
