Renovations looking good at local public library

Renovations continue at the Hopkinsville-Christian County Public Library, and magistrates got an update at the most recent Christian Fiscal Court meeting.

Magistrates Rich Liebe serves on the Library Board and gave an update on the renovations, which include updating of the library’s elevator and upgrades to the bathrooms. He says there have been some hiccups that they hadn’t accounted for, but they’re going to make sure everything is done right.

Magistrate Josh Turner detailed that some of the issues deals with bedrock beneath the floors that must be dealt with, but they’re making good progress.

Along with some upgrades, the library will be getting a new vibe, with the children’s area moving upstairs to the second floor, and the adult services finding a new home on the ground level.

At that meeting, magistrates approved payments to go towards that library project.
