Blazers roll past Moore, lose point guard

University Heights Academy used a 31-point performance from Elijah Walton to defeat visiting Louisville Moore 83-71 Sunday afternoon in a high school basketball scrimmage at Blazer Gym.

UHA opened the game with a 17-0 run to win the first quarter 27-9. The Blazers also won the second quarter 18-16, but suffered a big loss when point guard KeShawn Moore suffered a serious leg injury and had to leave the game. After the game, UHA coach Terry Hayes said the injury was serious and would keep Moore out for an extended time.

The Mustangs won the third quarter 24-14 and drew within five points midway through the period. However, UHA took the fourth quarter 24-22.

Tylin George added 26 points for the Blazers, who will scrimmage Russellville at home Tuesday night at 5 p.m. Brisyn Northington had 15 points for the Blazers.
