The Tennessee Valley Authority is asking for the public’s input on a proposed transmission system improvements for the areas of Logan and Todd County.
According to a news release, the TVA is proposing to build a switching station from 19.5 miles to 22.5 miles of single-circuit transmission line—the new line would begin at the new switching station to be located off Old Trenton Road. From there it would extend east to the Cave Springs Switching Station.
The new line would be built using primarily single-and-double-pole, steel structures centered on new 100-foot-wide right of way.
Now, the TVA is hosting a public open house where citizens can get answers to any questions they have, discuss concerns and receive comments. It will take place December 5 from noon until 7 p.m. at the Milliken Memorial Community House in Elkton. They will also host a virtual open house through January 6.
