Book and Bottle Shop cuts the ribbon downtown

Downtown Hopkinsville was in full swing Tuesday morning, as the Book and Bottle Shop officially opened its doors and cut the ribbon on East Ninth Street.

Located in the historic Tom Wade’s building, visitors may not recognize much of the interior, as it has been fully renovated from top to bottom, bringing a modern feel to the building. Co-owner and founder Rachel Sanders says the ribbon cutting was a dream come true that was years in the making.

Co-owner and Operations Manager Scotty Sanders, says he couldn’t be prouder of his wife’s hard work to seeing this come to life, and he says the response from the community has been so positive and welcoming.

Rachel Sanders says they’ll be open Tuesdays through Saturdays from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. and people can come get some treats and browse for books new and used.

She says they’re now accepting reservations for book clubs and other activities, and you can do that on their website.

Just under ten people will be keeping the shop running smoothly, from stocking the shelves to managing the wine and more. The menu will include shareable plates such as bruschetta, pimento cheese dip, and charcuterie boards, plus seasonal treats like Nutella flatbreads and no-bake cheesecake. Specialty coffee drinks, mocktails, and other beverages round out the offerings.
