TVA invites community to energy provision plan meeting

As more people, businesses and industries settle down in the Tennessee Valley Authority’s coverage region, the power provider is hosting public meetings to discuss their plans to keep up with power demands and on November 7 those in Hopkinsville are invited to provide their input.

Scott Brooks and Clifton Lowry with TVA appeared on WHOP to talk about their Integrated Resource Plan and how the public can participate in drafting this plan. Lowry says every few years TVA puts together a plan to determine what their power demands are across their service region.

At these meetings Lowry says they will be factoring in population increases, rate affordability, ensuring reliable energy and their environmental impact.

At Thursday’s meeting, Lowry says they will be presenting a draft of the plan to the public, answer questions and take the input of attendees into account. The final plan will include public feedback and will act as a guide for the TVA.

The meeting is set for 6 p.m. on Thursday, November 7 at the Bruce Convention Center.
