Heritage Christian Academy had two runners qualify for the KHSAA Class 1-A State Cross Country Meet this Saturday with their finishes last weekend at the Class 1-A, Region 1 meet at Marshall County High School.
Aaron Hensley took 22nd overall with a time of 19:39.82 to earn a spot in the state meet.
The Warriors finished eighth as a team with 170 points.
Dawson Springs’ Easton Bowerland won the meet, scoring the course in 17:20.38. He led the Panthers to their sixth straight Class 1-A, Region 1 cross country championship.
Murray was second and UHA took third, followed by Fort Campbell and Hickman County.
HCA’s Cadyn Travis missed going to the state meet by one spot, taking 30th in 20:41.32. Others running for the Warriors on Saturday included Levin Johnston (31, 20:43.12), Josh Farmer (43, 22:09.87), Ben Hensley (44, 22:1794) and Ryan Goforth (56, 25:02.71).
In the girls’ meet, HCA’s Genna Calhoun earned a spot in this weekend’s state meet at the Kentucky Horse Park by taking 17th overall in a time of 27:04.25.
Jade Green of Murray was first in a time of 20:43.70.
Dawson Springs won the girls’ team region championship. Murray was second and Crittenden County took third.
