The Hopkinsville Police Department is investigating a robbery that occurred at Hibbett Sports on Fort Campbell Boulevard Wednesday afternoon.
According to the Hopkinsville police report, the suspects—who are not identified on the report—used physical force against a victim during the course of a theft at the store in Hopkinsville, causing him physical injury by pepper spraying him.
They stole nearly $900 with of merchandise from the store before fleeing the scene.
Prior to committing the robbery, the suspects placed a cover over the registration plate of their vehicle to obscure it from being seen by witnesses.
The incident is being investigated as first-degree robbery, fourth-degree assault and obscuring lettering or decal on plate—the investigation continues.
