After a slow start, the host University Heights Academy Blazers found their offense and pounded the Fort Campbell Falcons 7-0 Tuesday night in the Boys’ District 8 Soccer Tournament Semifinals at Givens Field.
Neither team could find the back of the net for the first 20 minutes, although the Blazers had several opportunities.
With 19:06 to play, Cal Givens gave UHA a 1-0 lead. Hayden Hunt scored twice in the final 3:37 of the half for a 3-0 lead at the break.
Hunt made it 4-0 with 34:45 left in the game and Griffin McCoy got into the scoring act with 30:10 to play for a 5-0 advantage.
UHA coach Josh Nichols said he was happy with how his team played.
Givens scored his second goal of the night off a corner kick for a 6-0 advantage with 27:24 to play.
The Blazers then finalized the win with another goal by McCoy with 18:36 to play.
