Commissioner of Agriculture Jonathan Shell proclaims October as Farm to School month in Kentucky.

The Kentucky Department of Agriculture is committing to providing Kentucky Proud food products to the Kentucky’s schools system with the help of Shell.

This proclamation welcomes students to grow strong and healthy, while learning about the importances of agriculture, emphasizing the vital connection between local agriculture and education.

The declaration aims to promote the consumption of locally sourced food by integrating farm-fresh products into school meals. The initiative will focus on enhancing student understanding and where their food comes from, but also foster deeper appreciation for rural life.
