Madisonville man charged with murder in infant’s death

A Madisonville man is behind bars Tuesday morning after he was served with an arrest warrant charging him with murder.

The Madisonville Police Department served 22-year-old Anthony Monroe Paige of Madisonville with an arrest warrant Wednesday for the charge of first-degree murder domestic violence. According to police, emergency services responded to a residence on Couch Street in Madisonville on October 2 for reports that a two-month-old was not breathing.

The infant was transported to Vanderbilt Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased on October 5. An autopsy was performed that cause of death was blunt force trauma, with the Medical Examiner’s report noting brain and optic nerve hemorrhages, blood in the ears and bruising on the back of the baby’s head.

Investigation determined that the child lived with his mother, aunt, two other children and the mother’s boyfriend, Paige. Paige and the aunt were reportedly the only adults in the residence on October 2, while the mother was at work.

Paige was lodged in the Hopkins County Detention Center.
