Two people were seriously injured in a single-vehicle crash on U.S. 62 West in Lyon County last week.
According to the Lyon County Sheriff’s Department, the wreck happened around 10:35 p.m. on U.S. 62 West Wednesday night near Dustin Road when a vehicle driven by 24-year-old Richard Dennis of Eddyville lost control after he reportedly swerved to avoid hitting a deer. He overcorrected, causing the vehicle to go off the roadway, striking several mailbox, two roads sign and ditch before coming to a stop.
The vehicle overturned, ejecting Dennis. Dennis and a passenger, 23-year-old Lakyn Romaine of Eddyville, were seriously injured and transported to area hospital for treatment.
