HHS, CCHS runners compete at Louisville XC Classic

Hopkinsville and Christian County went to Louisville to compete in the Louisville XC Classic on Saturday.

Tyson Cavinder paced the Hopkinsville boys’ varsity team by crossing the finish line in 17:28. Savior Davis finished in 19:33.54 and Fernando Ginez-Rojas crossed the finish line in 26:49.10

Christian County was paced by Michael Webb, who finished in 17:33.51. Right behind Webb was Cayden Cline, who finished in 17:46.11 and Wyatt Fleming, who had a time of 17:46.98.

JT Miles (18.33.31), Joseph Parker (19:21.46), Hector Munoz (19:35.21) and Matthew Reeves (21:05.70) also competed for the Colonels in the boys’ varsity 5K race.

In the girls’ varsity 5K race, Christian County’s Taylor Morris crossed the finish line in 20:56.54. Ellie Brown crossed the finish line in 23:40.46.

Hopkinsville was paced by Lauren Mayes, who finished in 21:32.96. Rebecca Wood finished just behind Mayes in 21:41.82.

Also running for the Tigers were Alexis Herrera Lovato (22:30.40), Kaydon Coats (22:58.06) and Evelyn Bangart (24:04.40). For Bangart, it was a personal best time.

In the boys’ JV race, Christian County’s Rex Taggart ran the 4K course in a time of 19:14.89.
