This week is seeing the return of quiet, dry weather to our region, as all eyes turn to Hurricane Milton in the Gulf as it barrels towards Florida.
Thanks to a high-pressure weather system sitting right over the top of us, Lead Forecaster Keith Cooley with the National Weather Service in Paducah says the rest of the week and through the weekend is looking to stay dry, with pleasant temperatures.
He says they’re also not expecting any impacts in our area from the rapidly intensifying Hurricane Milton in the Gulf of Mexico—they expect at this time that after it makes landfall in Florida, it will move out eastward into the ocean.
With no rain in the forecast however, that does mean our drought conditions will start to slowly creep back in.
Then, in the 8-to-14-day outlook, it’s a familiar looking forecast with trends for above average temperatures and below average chances for precipitation.
