Wood’s PK settles score for Hoptown over FSHS

Rebecca Wood’s penalty kick proved to be the game-winning goal as host Hopkinsville held off Franklin-Simpson 3-2 Thursday night in a girls’ high school soccer match.

Kaylyn Lynch had two goals and Wood also had an assist for the Lady Tigers.

Jaleigha McFarland had 11 saves in the victory.

Hopkinsville finished off its regular season with a 12-8-1 record and won six of its last eight matches. The Lady Tigers will play Fort Campbell in the first round of the District 8 Tournament at 7 p.m. Monday at University Heights Academy.
