Missionary Radio—of which Hopkinsville listeners might know better as WNKJ—is hosting their fall-time fundraiser event to help keep them on the airwaves.
General Manager Ken Cummings appeared on WHOP Radio recently and says while they still hold to WNKJ, they have a lot of call letters and radio frequencies under their belt now, so it just made sense to become Missionary Radio, to fully encompass their ideas and mission.
The theme for this year’s Care-A-Thon is “Come To Jesus” and Cummings hopes people will also come visit theme during the fundraising event that takes place from October 8 through October 10 at the station at 1100 East 18th Street.
He says Missionary Radio—which has broadcasts in Hopkinsville, Benton, Hardin, Madisonville, Murray, Providence and Dickson, Tennessee—is 100 percent listeners funded. The money raised will benefit their operations, but also their missionary work and community outreach.
The best way to donate is to visit their website, missionary.radio, and click on the donate option, but you can also mail them a donation at P.O. Box 1029 Hopkinsville, Kentucky 42241. Or, you can stop by the station and visit with the crew.
