Lady Tigers put up fight against Caldwell

The Hopkinsville Lady Tigers may have lost their high school volleyball match to host Caldwell County Thursday night, but their coach saw some bright spots.

“Tonight was a different game from these girls,” Lady Tigers’ coach Laykin Peek said. “Tonight, I saw exactly what I’ve been trying to get out of them all season – determination, spirit, heart, and fight.”

Madysen Taggart had nine kills, two solo blocks and five digs to lead the Lady Tigers, who fell 25-15, 25-20, 25-18.

Alayna King had seven assists, a dig and an ace. Danaja Wheeler had eight digs and an ace and Kaley Bangart added six digs. Kyleigh Weber provided seven digs and an ace and Lainey Stewart had seven digs and two kills.

Hopkinsville is now 2-20 on the season and will play at Fort Campbell Tuesday night in a District 8 match.
